Dear Friends,

It is with great sorrow that we write this letter to inform you that our dear friend, Sharon Feng, passed away yesterday from pancreatic cancer. Back in April, Sharon learned that she had pancreatitis and left for Shanghai to be with her sister, son and family. She made plans to undergo integrative treatments in China, so that she could return to California in the fall. When Joanna and other faculty members visited her in Shanghai, she spoke of her love of teaching and her plans of returning to Five Branches to be with her students.

Sharon Feng has been a major pillar of Five Branches' faculty and we will all miss her energy, straightforwardness and world-class teaching. We are sure that she continues to want her students and colleagues to learn this medicine well, to teach through stories, and to be compassionate with our patients. Her great qualities are reflected in the fine practices of Five Branches alumni, and in the health of her many patients.

We will be coordinating a memorial service and scholarship fund in honor of Sharon's life and achievements. If you would like to make a donation or send a gift, we will be forwarding details to you shortly.

With love and gratitude,

Ron and Joanna
